ASCO 2026: Translation Science for Better Cancer Outcomes

This year American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) was appropriately themed “The Science and Practice of Translation: Improving Cancer Outcomes Worldwide.” The sheer volume of scientific and medical breakthroughs across the field of oncology is extraordinary and the excitement surrounding groundbreaking clinical trials and new modalities was evident among ASCO attendees.

The President's Address at the Opening Session of the Annual Meeting really set the tone for the duration of the event. He spoke about the many meanings of translation, and its power to enhance discovery, improve care delivery, and ultimately improve outcomes for patients around the globe. A responsibility to ensure that innovation becomes access, that progress becomes universal, and that no patient anywhere is left behind.

From breakthrough clinical data to shifting treatment paradigms, ASCO 2026 may be remembered as a turning point for oncology innovation and always seen as a gateway to collaboration bringing together partners across the oncology landscape and exploring the ideas, innovations and strategies shaping what’s next for global drug development.
